Airplane infront of the moon
WCYDWT? This image is a great stimulus to build a similar triangle problem. Students could use the internet to find out various dimensions and demonstrate or calculate a missing variable such as: how high was the plane flying. Bablyonian use of square root of two
Photographs and analysis of an 1800 BC Babylonian table showing the diagonal of a square and ancient knowledge of the value of square root of two – expressed in base 60. A great extension resource.
