A place for maths teachers, just like you, to share original resources.
Created for an accelerated Year 8 class - suitable for later grades.
They haven't learned binomial expansions, but this takes them all the way from common-factor work to quadratic trinomials. They spent three lessons completing it, mostly in assigned groups, and no whole-class teaching was required, just assisting and prompting. I'm confident that they are now confident at factorising and will remain so. 10/10 would do again. With modifications, or perhaps without, it might be good for an average Year 9 class when the time comes to factorise quadratics.
